The Big Chess Camp returns this May!

Every summer, we bring something special for chess players: The Big Chess Summer Camp! This year, the camp will run from 18th May to 24th May. We invite all of you to be a part of this exciting week.

Thought behind the chess camp

Over the years, we have realised that one thing makes a big difference in chess improvement: the right environment. Being around people who are also trying to improve changes the way you approach the game. When you see others solving tough problems, thinking deeply, and learning from their mistakes, it naturally pushes you to do the same. Our effort is to create a space where players can work on their game, learn from each other and leave as stronger chess players.

Learning with others is always more fun!

Structure of the camp

The camp follows a format that many of you have enjoyed in previous years. Everyone learns differently; this is the core of the camp. We let you find your own rhythm. You walk in, register, and we have a quick conversation to understand your level. Based on that, you are given a sheet to work on. From there, it’s all about learning at your own pace!

So many positions, where do you start?

Each sheet focuses on a specific theme and comes with carefully selected positions and exercises. You sit down, take your time, and start working through them. No one will rush you. Once you are done, a coach or volunteer sits with you to go over your solutions. You discuss ideas, understand mistakes, and explore better ways to approach the position. Then, you move on to the next sheet. For kids, we also have ChessPa sheets, specifically designed to make learning fun and engaging at an early stage.

ChessPa will make chess more fun for young learners.

Coach Nithin Chandan patiently guiding the little learner through the ChessPa sheets.

Head coach Shashank solving player's doubts.

Sometimes, your buddy will clear your doubts before the coach does!

To make sure everyone gets the most out of the camp, the sheets are divided into four levels. You can start from where you feel comfortable.

Level 1

Focuses on the basics, how pieces move, simple checkmates, and key principles.

Level 2

Introduces tactics and important ideas that build a strong foundation.

Level 3

Covers more advanced concepts like endgames and positional understanding.

Level 4

Designed for experienced players who enjoy a challenge, with tougher and more complex positions.

A small goal to aim for...

If you complete all the sheets up to Level 3, you will receive a certificate at the end of the camp!

Solve as many sheets as you want!
