Senthil Maran K wins 25th RCC Blitz Rating Open 2025

IM Senthil Maran K and GM Laxman R R scored an unbeaten 11.5/13 each at 25th RCC Blitz Rating Open 2025. Senthil won the tournament on tie-breaks, Laxman secured second place. Their seventh round battle against each other ended in a draw. IM Nitish Belurkar and Sidharth Mohan scored 11/13 each. They were placed third and fourth respectively. The total cash prize fund of the tournament was ₹100000. The top three prizes were ₹15000, ₹10000 and ₹7000 along with a trophy each. The one-day 13-round Rating Open tournament was organized by Rao's Chess Corner at Sharada Vidyalaya Kodialbail in Mangaluru, Karnataka on 28th September 2025. They form the heart and soul of this legendary chess club. From World Champions to beginners, everyone is welcome at this place, which is driven by a community of passionate chess lovers. Recently, the club hosted the Clutch Chess Legends 2025, where two icons, Garry Kasparov and Viswanathan Anand, faced each other once again. In the middle of all the action, IM Sagar Shah interviewed the person behind this beloved chess club, Rex Sinquefield, the visionary whose dream turned Saint Louis into the chess capital of the world. Nitish Belurkar scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 to win 24th RCC Rapid Rating Open 2025. He finished a half point ahead of the rest. IM Sanket Chakravarty, IM Ratnakaran K, GM Laxman R R and Christy George scored 8/9 each. They secured second to fifth place respectively. The total cash prize fund of the tournament was ₹200000. The top three prizes were ₹30000, ₹20000 and ₹15000 along with a trophy each. The two-day nine round Rating Open tournament was organized by Rao's Chess Corner at Sharada Vidyalaya Kodialbail in Mangaluru, Karnataka on 27th and 28th September 2025. Karthikeyan Murali and Pranesh M dominate Serbian First League 2025 for ŠK Jelica Pep - Goračići

GM Karthikeyan Murali and GM Pranesh M scored an unbeaten 8/10 and 8/11 to ensure his team ŠK Jelica Pep - Goračići win the Serbian First League 2025 Open. The team scored an unbeaten 31/33 to become the champion. They finished a whopping six points ahead of the rest. The defending champion, ZMAJ - Belgrade scored 25/33 to secure second place. GM Aditya Mittal and GM Bharath Subramaniyam H contributed a crucial 7/11 and 7/10 each respectively. Bharath remained undefeated. Radnik - Surdulica scored 21/33 to finish third. In the Women, Crvena Zvezda - Beograd and Jugovic - Kać scored an identical 26/33 each. They secured first and second place according to tie-breaks. Nithin Babu and Mandar Pradip Lad scored 8/9 each at 23rd RCC Classical Cup Rating Open 2025. Nithin Babu won the tournament on tie-breaks, despite losing the last round to the eventual runner-up, Mandar. Dinesh Kumar Jaganathan edged past six more players on tie-breaks to finish third scoring 7.5/9. The total cash prize fund of the tournament was ₹500000. The top three prizes were ₹50000, ₹35000 and ₹25000 along with a trophy each. The six-day nine round Rating Open tournament was organized by  Rao's Chess Corner at Sharada Vidyalaya Kodialbail in Mangaluru, Karnataka from 25th to 30th September 2025. IM Shahil Dey scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 to win Check N Mate Rating Open 2025. He finished a half point ahead of the rest. Five players - Sham R, IM Senthil Maran K, FM Apoorv Kamble, Yeshas H and Yash Mishra scored 8/9 each. They were placed second to sixth respectively. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹400000. The top three prizes were ₹30000, ₹20000 and ₹15000 along with a trophy each. The one-day nine round Rapid Rating Open tournament was organized by Check N Mate at Lotus Convention Centre in Bengaluru, Karnataka on 21st September 2025. This is Shahil's third rating tournament triumph of the year.

Balkishan A, Dinesh Kumar Jaganathan and IM Md. Imran scored 8/9 each at First Move Rating Open 2025. Balkishan won the tournament due to better tie-break score. Dinesh and Imran were placed second and third respectively. Only Balkishan remained undefeated among them. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹500001. The top three prizes were ₹60001, ₹35000 and ₹30000 along with a trophy each. The five-day nine round Rating Open tournament was organized by First Move Chess Academy at BSS Vidyodaya in Mysuru, Karnataka from 20th to 24th September 2025. Garry Kasparov wins Clutch Chess Legends 2025 by 13-11

Garry Kasparov won Clutch Chess Legends 2025 by 13-11. The final day of the match started with a draw. Kasparov won the second Rapid game after Vishy Anand made an incorrect rook trade offer in the endgame. 'The Lightning Kid' bounced back with two wins in the Blitz game to finish the event on a winning note and reduce the gap. Kasparov won US$ 70000 + bonus, Anand $50000 + $13000 bonus. Starting position of the final day was #294. The loss in the final Rapid game of the event, abandoned Anand's chances of winning the match. Clutch Chess Legends 2025 G5-8: Kasparov increases his lead against Anand 8.5-3.5

Garry Kasparov extended his lead to 8.5-3.5 after Day 2 of Clutch Chess Legends 2025. Vishy Anand had a rough start as he lost on time in a better position in Game 5. The next Rapid game ended in a draw. Kasparov won the first Blitz game of the day in just 18 moves after his opponent made a one-move tactical blunder. In the next Blitz game, Kasparov repeated in a better position to keep his lead. Final day games have 3 points each, so Anand still has chances to win the clash. Clutch Chess Legends 2025 G1-4: Kasparov scores the first win

Garry Kasparov scored the first win on Day 1 at Clutch Chess Legends 2025. It was Vishy Anand who had the opportunity to win the first game. The second game was a relatively tame draw. The third game which was also the first 5'+3" Blitz, seemed to be heading towards a draw. However, it was not an easy one. The rook and many pawns' endgame was a complex one. Anand traded the rooks at an incorrect time, which resulted in his opponent having a decisive advantage. In the fourth game of the day, Anand got material in the game. Five players - Rudra Mahendra Dhole, FM Vaibhav Jayant Raut, Abhay Bandewar, Sumit Sikka and CM Aishwin Daniel scored 7.5/9 each. They were placed third to seventh respectively according to tie-breaks. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹200000.
